This page explains what information Matt Syp Consulting (“MSC,” “I,” “me”) collects through this website, how it is used and when it may be shared with service providers. It’s written in plain language rather than formal legal language, and it describes this site’s actual practices. It isn’t a claim of compliance with any specific privacy law or standard.

This site is operated by a solo consulting practice. There’s no marketing department, no data broker relationship and no sale of your information to anyone.

Information You Provide Directly

Depending on how you use this site, you may provide:

• Contact form: name, company, email and an optional phone number, along with your message.
• Coaching intake form: name, email, company, role, what’s on your mind for our sessions and an optional note about anything you’d like me to be mindful of in our conversations.
• Coaching cancellation feedback: an optional name and email, a reason for cancelling and optional written feedback. This form can be submitted anonymously.
• Scheduling a call: when you book time through the site’s scheduling tool, you provide whatever information that tool asks for (typically your name and email) directly to the scheduling provider.
• Coaching subscription payment: when you subscribe to coaching, your payment details are entered directly with the payment provider, not with MSC.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, this site’s hosting provider automatically logs basic technical information when you visit: things like your IP address, browser type and which pages you viewed. This is standard web server behavior used for keeping the site running securely, not information used to build a profile of you.

This site does not currently use analytics tools or non-essential cookies. If that changes, this page will be updated to describe what is added and why.

Because the site is public, its pages may be accessed by search engines and other automated tools, including tools that retrieve a page at a user’s request. The site also uses robots.txt directives asking certain crawlers not to access content for model-related uses. These directives depend on each crawler honoring them and are not access controls.

How Your Information Is Used

Information you submit is used to:

• Respond to your message or inquiry
• Prepare for and deliver coaching or mentorship sessions
• Process payment for services you’ve purchased
• Schedule and manage calls and sessions
• Keep the site running securely

I don’t use the information you submit for advertising and I don’t sell it.

When Information Is Shared With Service Providers

This site relies on a small number of outside services to work. Depending on how you use the site, information may be processed or stored by:

• Formspree, to receive contact, coaching intake and cancellation-feedback submissions and forward them to MSC’s DreamHost-hosted email account.
• Google Calendar’s scheduling tool, to let you book a call or session directly.
• PayPal, to process coaching subscription payments.
• Font Awesome, to load the icons used on this site.
• Dreamhost, to host this website, maintain standard server logs and provide MSC’s email service. Form submissions and scheduling notifications delivered by email may be stored on DreamHost’s mail servers.

Each of these providers has its own privacy practices governing the information that passes through their service. I chose them because they’re widely used, reputable services appropriate for a small consulting practice. This isn’t because I’ve independently audited their internal data handling.

Payment Information

Coaching subscription payments are handled entirely by PayPal. MSC does not receive or store your full card or bank account details. PayPal may provide MSC with transaction and subscription information needed to confirm and manage your purchase, such as your name, email, payment status and transaction identifiers.

Scheduling Information

When you book a call or session, you’re using a scheduling tool provided by Google Calendar. Whatever information you enter there (typically your name and email) is subject to that provider’s own privacy practices in addition to this page. Booking details are also added to MSC’s calendar and may appear in scheduling notification emails.

Cookies and Analytics

This site does not currently use analytics or intentionally set non-essential cookies. Because no consent-based tracking is currently used, the site does not display a cookie banner. If that changes, this page and the site’s consent behavior will be updated.

How Long Information Is Kept

Submitted information is kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected: for example, to respond to your message, deliver a service you’ve purchased or maintain basic business records. If you’d like something deleted sooner, you can ask (see below). Different records may be kept for different periods. Business and payment records may be retained longer when needed for accounting, tax, dispute or legal purposes.

Security

I take reasonable steps to protect the information submitted through this site, including relying on established, reputable third-party services for forms, scheduling and payment rather than building custom systems to handle sensitive information. That said, no method of storing or transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, and I can’t guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices

You can ask me to access, correct or delete information you’ve submitted through this site by contacting me at privacy@mattsyp.com. I’ll respond to reasonable requests, though some information (for example, records needed for completed payments) may need to be kept for legitimate business or legal reasons.

Changes to This Page

This page may be updated if the site’s practices change: for example, if a service provider changes or if analytics are added. The date at the top reflects the most recent update.

Children’s Privacy

This site and its services are intended for adults and are not directed to children.
